ASTM A420 WPL6 Buttweld Pipe Fittings are intended for low temperature applications. These are used in deep sea applications and in cold weather. The material is wrought carbon steel or alloy steel. These can also be used in low pressure applications at low temperatures. There are different standards that produce pipes from ½ inches to 96 inches in outer diameter and in different schedules. The LTCS A420 WPL6 Elbow is one of the commonly used types of pipe fittings that change the direction of piping usually in perpendicular axis.

The elbow can differ in radius and in the degree of angle. The A420 Grade WPL6 weld fittings have to be certified according to the standards. The LTCS Material has to undergo radiographic, hydrostatic and other required tests as necessary. Some of the testing is mandatory and others are optional according to customer requirements. The composition of the material has carbon, manganese, phosphorous, silicon, sulfur, chromium and molybdenum.
The Low temperature carbon steel pipe fittings have minimum tensile strength of 415 -585MPa and minimum yield strength of 205MPa. The LTCS Pipe Fittings are used in the power generation, gas processing, pharmaceuticals, petrochemicals, heat exchangers, condensers and in sea water applications.
